点评：Sattal is a group of interconnected seven freshwater lakes situated 19 km away from Naukuchiatal and 8km from Bhimtal. Sattal is at an altitude of 1,370 m above sea level. The road leading to Sattal is narrow and is through dense forests of oak and pine trees. As you approach Sattal, the first lake is the Nal Damyanti Lake. Ahead comes the Panna or Garude lake. A little ahead is a cluster of three lakes – Ram, Laxman and Sita lakes. The other two lakes are Purna Tal and Sukh Tal. These lakes are wonderland for 500 species of resident and migratory birds, 20 species of mammals, over 525 species of butterflies and over 11,000 species of moths, beetles, bugs and other insects. Tourists can enjoy boating, kayaking, bird watching and fishing during their visit here. Hills around Sattal are ideal for activities like trekking, rappelling, mountain biking and rock climbing. One can go and see the Butterfly museum in the town. There are many tour and adventure activities operators around the lake. Do not forget to negotiate the rates here. There is KMVN Tourist Rest House and YMCA camp site along with many small restaurants serving popular meals like Kadhi-Chawal etc. Several boat stands are there in this section of the lakes between Ram Tal and Sita tal. Sattal is a perfect vacation option for those who are looking for nature.
