Peaceful site, good experience.
Abbaye de Hambye的点评
点评：A wonderful site in the heart of the countryside. Really good to spend a couple of hours exploring the abbey ruins and surrounding buildings.
What we absolutely loved was the ( free ) 3D tablets which you could use to point at your surroundings and be presented with a view of how it have looked back in the day. This is the first time we’ve seen this offered in a site like this and it made the visit all the more enjoyable.
The grounds of the abbey itself aren’t even so be mindful if you’ve mobility issues or have a buggy etc.
Admission charge or €6 ( October 26) was very reasonable we thought. In the summer it would be a lovely place to picnic in the grounds, with an expansive “lawn” behind / next to the abbey ruins.
Small gift shop and friendly staff. On admission we were given a ticket which we could use for discounted entry at a selection of other sites too, if only we had the time.
No refreshments on site, but there is a Logis hotel just a short walk up the road which could be good for a lunch, or if you wanted to stay and catch the abbey at sunrise ( it’s easily viewable from the road )
