Coventry Building Society Arena的点评
点评：This was a £75 ticket to an evening of live entertainment, band, fairground rides and a live band.
On arrival we were moved through to the coat rail - £4 to out your coat in. This is a £75 ticket event and they can't offer a coat service, I felt this was poor in relation to what was being paid.
There was a welcome drink in an old ocean spray jar. Choice of a red or green cocktail. Neither were known or recognisable and it wasn't actually pleasant.
We moved into the bat area to find all drinks were served in plastic cups, we werent attending a football match! One of our group has allergies to plastics and they had no alternative, a plastic coated paper straw and just looked confused. There was no slice of lemon for a gin and tonic, they were not allowed knives, which makes you slightly concerned.
We move into the fairground holding area, no rides are functioning so not as if you couldn't have a glass due to the rides, we found another bar who agreed to swap the plastic cup drink to a can, classy. We ordered another drink this was even better as they tried to say a plastic mini flute was a white wine and soda. When shown the plastic cup the other bar served it in they relented and actually poured another that resembled a stranded wine measure.
We then move into the main dinning, disco and event area. Our table had been hijacked. So staff helpfully moved them on and replaced the table wear and crackers. Odd as they had plenty of screens with party name and table number to avoid this.
We sat and wow a glass! They did have them. Table was decorated nicely and was enough space for 12 per table.
The entertainment started with a compare who's role was a bit odd he didn't really get the croed going or add anything. The acrobatics were OK but let's be honest there are only so many times you can Oooh at the splits. It was ok but a bit amateur and this maybe as they are so limited, there wasn't enough and I felt it was ok but for £75 event screaming a night of entertainment, I felt like this wasn't it. Some ribbon dancing, bit of a cartwheel and some more poses... Dinner was served
This was a brie style tart, the were military precision in getting food out. It was tasty and hot
The main was a chicken breath, came with a slice of carrot and parsnip, fondant potato, mini pig in blanket and gravy. Now for a Christmas meal I did expect... Stuffing, cranberry, maybe some green veg or a pot of cranberry on the table and an additional jug of the jus/gravy. It was all hot and tasted nice but was certainly nothing special and not festive.
We had more aerial splits, some fire dancing which left us all coughing at the fumes.
Dessert was a chocolate ganash torte that was supposed to be black forest. It was mainly a rich chocolate torte the alternative was passionfruit cheesecake. We had to ask repeatedly for this for some guests. This was also basic.
We had a dance, plenty of space and security ensured guests kept drinks off the floor. They disco was great, music was good then the band which was really good also, lots were up enjoying the music.
During this whole time there was a table service by qr code but we couldn't find this to order, a small cocktail bar was in a corner and you could order a nice cocktail in a plastic cup.
We went around the fairground rides, a swirling skinny thing, like a carpet ride and bumper cars. These were all included in the price and the group enjoyed.
The tea, coffee and mince pies were a table by the exit to the fairground, not table service and take away cups.
When your paying £75 you expect a certain level of basic expectation such as drinks, glass wear, table service and quality of food. I felt that this for £50 would of been great value and I couldn't quibble but £75.00 I kind of expected more and felt this fell short of our expectations and would not encourage us to return.
