点评：This was by far the worst experience of our 10 days in Ireland. We had a single day planned in Howth, and we booked this weeks in advance. Unfortunately, the weather that morning was abysmal--pouring rain and wind. These boats are small, uncovered, and provide absolutely no protection from the elements. Thankfully, we had brought waterproof gear and were fully covered, but the other passengers on the boat were not. When we boarded, everything was soaked, so there was no dry spot to sit. We headed out and the water was extremely choppy (so we had to sit) and a storm picked up, absolutely soaking all of us and our belongings. The skipper had to yell over the roar of the wind to make himself heard. Families were clinging to each other for dear life. And all I could think was that I wanted to turn around and head back to shore for fear of capsizing. One of the families even huddled in the tiny enclosed area where the skipper was piloting the boat to avoid the elements. We did make it to Ireland's Eye and back to shore safely, but it was an entirely unpleasant experience--certainly, we weren't able to appreciate what we had come for. And I feel strongly that the decision to operate the tour at that time was unwise and irresponsible. At the very least, they could have offered to wait out the storm. An hour later, and the weather was beautiful. The skipper even apologized as we disembarked. If you don't have the ability to be flexible in your date or time, I recommend not booking this in advance. And if you do go, bring your waterproof gear!
