点评：Like some other reviews below, we arrived here in the evening on a Sunday and the inside was closed. Honestly, we didn't really know too much about this place and had never seen the movie "Cars" which is basically the story of the demise of Route 66 starring Tow Mater, the truck that drives backwards. The truck was the inspiration for the animated character as well as the police car nearby. We stopped at Nelsons Store in Riverton and Mr. Nelson told us the complete story of when the Pixar writer came and interviewed people looking for ideas along Route 66. The reason that Tow Mater drives backwards all the time was inspired by a man who can turn the lower part of his legs around and walk backward. The Hudson car in the movie is located down the road as you come in from the south at GearHead Curios with the "A" giant standing on the side. I've talked in some other reviews about how long it takes to drive Route 66 and this town is great example; you could spend a full day here taking photos and going to the museum and visitor center. This really is a good photo opportunity, stop down below and see Luigi's shop and the police car. They made a Route 66 drive-under thing to frame your car like the one located in Kingman, Arizona. They had not put the lettering on it when we visited, but said they were raising the funds to do so. If you are heading east, go on the original Route 66 and take a picture at the state line of Missouri. We had dinner at Woody's Pizza in Joplin, Missouri and it was good; that's another example of a business bringing Route 66 back to life. We enjoyed our time here and the murals in Galena are great as well.
