Projection system needs a desperate upgrade.

点评：Okay I'm massively in support of local independent cinemas, we really need to support them but I have a few issues with Regent.
It's not like your state of the art multiplex experience but that's okay that's apart of it's charm. The decor reminds me of the 70's style cinemas with curtains as decoration and why not, it adds to the atmosphere. You can take a family to the latest offerings for reasonable prices including a confections stand that's fairly competitive. That's where it ends.
Now, my issue is with the projection system. I'm not entirely sure it's a commercial unit as the film was incredibly dark where detail is lost. I have a few home cinema projectors and the Regents reminded me of my 700 lumen Optima I take camping with me. It's not very bright at all and bearly passable. Very poor I'm affraid. I'd like to know what they are using?
Also the surround sound is very thin and not a 7.1 mix you would normally experience as standard. It was difficult to hear some of the dialogue from the centre as reference with hardly any bass for movie effects like explosions for example.
That said, without being too negative, I do hope people go and help them survive, you never know but they may be able to upgrade their equipment in the future.
