点评:Have and always will be in love with the place, and the RSPB are doing a fine job looking after the forest. Once beyond the path to the Major Oak it becomes one of the most peaceful, reflective places in the UK, with space to explore and connect with nature. There is some attention paid to 'the legend' but as Sherwood is a regional jewel in the grown for biodiversity, it's wonderful to see how the RSPB are taking a nature-led approach to management, even if it's sometimes difficult for them to communicate this. We see so much truly wonderful wildlife which appears to be thriving, it's a proper place to explore rather than be shown everything, must be why so many kids seem to enjoy it too. There's SO MUCH space.
The real nature-saturated experience of the forest is magnitudes more enriching than the made up stuff about someone who never existed, and worth returning to again and again, you really experience the seasons.
We're RSPB members so free parking, and £7 to park for a whole day somewhere so beautiful would be hardly anything these days anyway.
