Tips about Srisailam Dam visit....

点评：I hear the best months to visit the dam are August and September, when there are monsoon rains in Karnataka, and to adjust the water levels, the dam gates are opened.
In jan, only one of the small gates was open.
I believe there are many "viewpoints", I found the view point situated right at the Dam entrance on the AP side to be the best.
There are professional photographers available from early morning, they charged 200/- for an A4 laminated photo and 100/- for A5.
There is only one small shop to cater snacks and coffee, and couple of ice cream shops on wheels.
To have a walk on the Dam ( interesting if gates are opened), we have to take prior permission from the Project Office situated in the village "Sunnipenta".
The best time would be early morning after day break, as it gets really sunny and the pics we take show us squinting or with shades.
The photographers can be encouraged to explain a few facts about the building around the dam for general gyan.
All together, a good experience for all and invaluable one for kids, how ever small...have a good one.
