A very charming visit

点评：I visited the "City of Marble" with my family and I was not disappointed at all!
The city within the remparts is very charming and offers an authenthic atmosphere. You can buy handmade items and local foods to the kind craftsmen located in the welcoming narrow streets. If you stop to drink a coffee, there is a lot of chances that you will hear relaxing musics played by local artists.
Then you can climb up the 800 stairs to Fort Liberia and visit this stunning monument which was built by Vauban in 1681. There, you can appreciate the beautiful sight of the Pyrenées montains and enjoy a more tranquil atmosphere while being surrounded by this ancient and well preserved place.
If you don't have a car you can visit this vibrant city with no problem because of the nearby train station, which is only 20 minutes far on foot from Villefranche de Conflent.
Even if I really liked this place, I wouldn't recommend to travel there on a very hot day.
