点评:I struggled to find the Gardens amongst all of the major road works underway just outside the entrance. Maps also had me driving around in circles through the works, trying to find an entry point. Rattled, I missed the sign to the car park, assuming the boom gate led to a locked off area. I parked wherever I could and went into the visitors centre to pay the $5 entry fee. I had parked in the wrong spot and for the person behind the counter this was a major catastrophe. I was told I couldn't enter the Gardens until I had moved my car. It was unfathomable that I had got that wrong and I was made to feel well beyond stupid for my error. I moved my car as directed and as the only visitor, entering an empty car park, I wondered if the long drive and road works bedlam was the easy part of the journey, compared to the attitude and exchange that came from behind the counter. I pushed myself to walk through the garden but didn't feel welcome or comfortable being there. I get that the Gardens are run by hard working volunteers, but surely that's not a licence to ruin the experience of someone visiting from interstate.
