点评:The Landshuter Hochzeit (or "Landshut Wedding") is SO. MUCH FUN. Every four years, the inhabitants of Landshut create the wedding procession of a Polish princess to the son of the Duke of Bavaria, which took place in 1475.
The town's inhabitants spend up to a year preparing, growing out their hair and getting outfitted in authentic costume for this medieval extravaganza. The entire town seems to shut down for it, streamers are hung from the city's colorful buildings, and everyone has a great time shouting "Hallooooooooo!" about every 5 seconds.
Bought tickets for the grandstands, which was worth the 50 euros per person for a good seat. It was a bit difficult to find how to purchase the tickets (the website was entirely in German), but email the Landshut tourist office and their friendly staff will help you out. With the seats, you and 100,000 other visitors will be vying for space to watch the parade.
The procession takes place every 4 years for 4 weekends in late June/July. Next one is in 2027!
