Interesting tour of one family’s history of settlement on Norfolk Island.

点评：The Pitcairn settlers village consists of an original family home and several outbuildings acting as museums. First you have an introductory chat by the guide a small auditorium. The group then walks from old building to old building with the guide telling us about the history of items in each building e.g one covered whaling, another was a blacksmiths forge, another included household items. Our guide one of the younger descendants was very entertaining and informative. You are on your feet for a fair while on this tour but there are a number of chairs at each building allowing you to sit if needed. The last stop is in the front room of the old homestead but you don’t get to go any further through the old house. At the end of the walking tour the group gets on the old 1928 Ford truck which was converted by the family into an open sided tour bus in the early days of tourism. The bus takes you around the gardens for a few minutes. The group then gets dropped off at the auditorium and watches a documentary on the history of the Pitcairn settlers and their relocation to Norfolk Island with a special focus of this particular family and their role in the history, life and original tourism enterprises of Norfolk Island. After this we were served either tea or coffee and a biscuit with guava jam. Overall interesting and lasts a couple of hours. Worth doing.
