点评:I have done this tour quite a few times over the years. I have seen the property grow from a house museum to an enterprise for shopping, entertainment and for art exhibitions. All good for the foundation that was built after Jim disappeared. Recognising that it’s an enterprise that needs to grow and sustain itself.
What I did not enjoy were the young staff who came across as rude and arrogant. So much for the Land of Smiles.
The price of the tour is now 250 baht. The minders of the house tour are also constantly keeping a close watch. Understandably given the millions worth of priceless antiques on display. Many which are rarities and museum quality.
Visiting for the umpteenth time still brings that nostalgia and romance of a bygone time with no social media, stylish soirées where people dressed up for cocktails and people were well mannered and the pace of change slow.
