点评:We were a group of 4 college friends using a raft. None of us had been rafting recently so this was a newer experience for all of us. The check-in process was good, we received good directions to the launch point, the raft and paddles worked as expected, and staff was friendly. The Delaware was quiet and had little current due to drought conditions, and we got stuck due to shallow water a few times, but we resolved the issues and this was not the fault of the outfitter.
The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is the transportation. We had expected a van ride to the launch point, but instead we were directed to drive there and pay a $10 parking fee at Smithfield Beach. Then the pickup at the end was delayed. However, the worst part was the van driver was reckless. One of the canoes on the roof of the van was loose so we had to stop to re-secure it. Then, he left the back doors of the van open when he started moving again, until people screamed. Finally, he was driving well in excess of 20 MPH over the speed limit on winding one lane mountain roads which caused one of our friends to get sick -- and this was on her birthday. She likened it to "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" at Disneyworld. We appreciate that the driver wanted to get us back to the parking lot quickly, but someone needs to talk to him about speed limits and making sure the vehicle is safe to begin transport before moving.
