Memorable 4-day Orange River Trip
Umkulu Safari and Canoe Trails的点评
点评：This is the third time that we have done a four-day rafting trip on the Orange River and the first time that we have booked with Umkulu Safari. It has been an amazing trip and has definitely exceeded all of our expectations!
The trip was very well organised by the lovely staff who accommodated all of our needs. We even managed to organise a super delicious surprise birthday cake for our mother’s 60th birthday (thanks Chrisna & Peach for coordinating and baking!).
The road to the Growcery Base Camp is a roughly corrugated gravel road - manageable with smaller cars but not recommended if you want to travel more comfortably. The campsite is beautiful and all of the infrastructure is extremely clean and tidy. We recommend to stay at least one more night after the trip, as the time of return on the last day can not be guaranteed - plus you don’t really want to rush back into reality after a blissful couple of days on the river. ;)
We received good equipment and all the helping hands of the house when launching on the first day. All of the staff were very professional & competent and we felt very safe at all times.
Due to the conditions with some headwinds and low water levels, it was a tougher trip than usual and required some strength and endurance. Matt and Regie kept our spirits high with delicious river food. We are still in awe of all of the breakfasts, lunches, dinners and deserts cooked over the open fire!
We slept on a groundsheet under the stars - this we highly recommend as there is hardly any light pollution on the Orange River and mosquitoes or bugs are not an issue.
All in all this has been a very memorable trip. Thank you all for making these few days on the river so special! We will definitely be back! :)
