Christmas Visit to Strasbourg
斯特拉斯堡城站的点评
点评：We visited Strasbourg Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and took the train to here from Stuttgart Christmas Eve. We visited again on Christmas Day to do a day trip to Colmar. Getting to and from the trains was quick and easy for us but it is recommended to show up to your train early for some services to find a seat on the train. When we visited they had a Stranger Things Christmas tree in the central hall to promote the show and the park in front had a Christmas tree that was decorated with the Strasbourg Cathedral. Visiting Strasbourg during the Christmas Market season was on our bucket list for some time so we are glad that we finally got to do it and accessing Strasbourg from Germany helped keep our costs down.
The station was built in 1883 and mixes the original Neo-Renaissance style with some modern features by protecting the original architecture and feel with some glass elements. There are three halls here, some convenience stores and some services like car rentals offered here. The stores like Relay are a bit pricey but we got some snacks at a grocery store and McDonald's is nearby also.
From the train station it is about a 10 minute walk to the main parts of Strasbourg. There are some good tram and bus connections around this area as well but we found walking in Strasbourg was mostly fine for us. There are some hotels, restaurants and shops a short walk away from here as well. We took the bus to get out of Strasbourg because it was more economical and the well-serviced bus station in Place de l’Etoile is 12 minute ride away using the tram service.
