点评:My husband and I had booked for lunch on Christmas Eve, which would be our second visit to Le Caillau. Having arrived just before midday, we walked through the bar to the stunning dining room with roaring log fire and beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Chas, the proprietor, welcomed us and showed us to our table. We ordered drinks as the restaurant began to fill up. There was a great atmosphere as the amuses bouches were served. Absolutely delicious! After that followed crab ravioli, ginger and lemongrass broth; roast fillet of quail, foie gras and walnut stuffing balls, leek puree, roasted carrots and madeira sauce; cheese; and finally, chocolate and mango layer cake. Phew! Everything was superbly presented and served by Chas with a smile. We enjoyed a delightful, tasty banquet washed down with a bottle of sparkling Malbec from the local Château de Gaudou. We would have no hesitation in recommending Le Caillau for great food, friendly service, reasonable prices and a fabulous ambience.
