Great museum, great people, great smell!
Prickwillow Drainage Engine Museum的点评
点评：This museum is great! When you walk in the door you are greeted in equal measures by the friendly and knowledgeable docents, and the smell of well looked after old engines. This isn’t just a museum about pumping engines (which are massive!) but also about fenland life and industry.
There are several interactive exhibits, some very educational displays to teach you how engines work, and everything in the museum is numbered and can be looked up in the helpful catalogue. See if you find the little piece of Zimbabwe.
We were treated to the running of one of the big engines. Very kindly, following the refusal to start of one engine, the gentleman went and started up one of the other big ones to make sure we didn’t leave disappointed.
There is also small cafe on site. Would definitely come again, especially on an engine running day!
