点评:Our time spent at Palagio di Panzano wasn't just about the great food and wine. It was about the amazing people that make it so special.
My wife and I always look for family owned, organic, small batch wineries. We find that the experience, as well as the wine is always better. This was no different at Palagio di Panzano. While they have a great wine shop in Panzano, we opted for the winery experience. Upon pulling up to the driveway, we were greeted by Alesia, who would be doing the tour and wine tasting. She couldn't have been any nicer, and well educated on all aspects of winemaking. After the tour outside, we went in for lunch and the tasting. We got to meet Valentino, who has been at the winery for over 20 years! He uses fresh ingredients out of the garden he looks after. And let me tell.. this guy can cook! I don't care what you order, it will be awesome, however I particularly enjoyed his pappa al pomodoro, pasta and quite honestly, the best burger I have ever had! Who knew? So we spent the next couple of hours chatting with Alesia and Valentino and then got to meet the owners, Monia and Franco. Simply amazing people who are always ready to chat and share a story. The way these two met, and the ties of life they didn't know they had are simply amazing. I will let them tell you the story. While all of the wine we tasted was amazing, my favorite was the 2016 Chianti Clasico Reserve. FANTASTIC!!! I also suggest trying their white wines.
Our experience here was so wonderful that my wife stayed in the villa for a few nights with her girlfriend. EXTREMELY well appointed villa, done with taste and keeps that old tuscan feel alive. My wife and I already have reservations to stay there in August.
The wine. The food! The PEOPLE.. all make this place special.
