点评:Our first museum in Troyes was the Cite du Vitrail in the Hotel de Dieu next to the Cathedral. It covers 5 floors.
On the ground floor there are the two rooms of the Apothicairerie et Laboratoire de l’Hôtel-Dieu-le-Comte (which we had thought we needed to pay for seperately but didn't). The Main Apothecary Room was set up in the 16th century and is currently preserved in its 18th century state. Pottery containers and wooden boxes line the wall and are well worth a visit. As they are on the ground floor you would tend to visit them first.
The Stained Glass museum contains both older (dating back to the 4th century though, of course, more examples are common later) and more modern stained glass with many French descriptions with some more general information in French and English. It is divided chronolically and that makes it easy to follow. There are many explanations of the styles used in those periods. Many of the smaller exhibitions are backlit so you can admire the stained glass work. The Chapel (which displays stained glass windows within it) is, in itself, beautiful. The staircase has suspended glass glass bottles.
When we were there there was also an interesting historical exhibition on the connection between Troyes and the Canadian Montreal.
