点评:What Nice People!
We stopped at the Welcome Center so close to 5:00 P.M. we were afraid they would tell us to leave. Instead the two ladies were warm and friendly, offering suggestions about where to stay. One even called the historic Seagles Hotel downtown to see if they had rooms available. An especially helpful aid was the paper they gave us showing which restaurants were open which days and for which meals.
We’d gone to St. Mary’s impulsively because we dreaded staying at yet another Interstate hotel where they know most travelers never will return. The nice people at the Welcome Center were our introduction to a small town so welcoming everywhere that we’re planning to return for a longer stay.
One thing we noted with great pleasure—-we saw no political signs. It allowed us a respite from turmoil encountered other places.
We loved the Seagles Hotel; the restaurant at the Hotel; the one shop open early enough for us to visit before moving on. We’ll definitely return.
