点评：I expected to see large-scale aviaries with a tree and branches, like you normally do at a zoo that has the capacity for higher quality of life for their birds. Instead, they housed their parrots in the smallest cages possible. Barren, without anything, to occupy them, let alone fly or hardly move around. To me, it was like a cheap boardwalk fair. It is a very unfair life for these highly intelligent social creatures. It really hurts to see! (In the first photo, the monkeys are housed in typical Zoo habitats, while the birds aren't even allowed to fly. In the second photo, a beautiful but isolated Roselle is in bleak conditions. A single perch holding up while the other on the dirty ground. Unsecured water bowl on the bottom. How about a bathing dish? Enrichment? Socialization? Nutrition? Full spectrum light? And, do you know that birds also need a perch high up. That's how they roost and escape danger. They seek the highest perch.) I could go on and ON. But, this Zoo has 500 other animals to care for... and attend. And, clearly, they haven't taken the dedicated responsibility and time to learn about the requirements for these highly intelligent social parrots.
