点评:This is a small museum that covers a lot of history. In an hour to 90 minutes of wondering around you can get a very good introduction to Vietnamese History from the stone age onwards
I loved all the statues of the Buddha. I was also particularly impressed by their collection of statues from the Kingdom of Chămpa.*
If you have time, do a second lap, it is all on one floor with a very few stairs. I went around twice spending more time on the areas that were of particular interest to me.
The place gets many buses of tourists. So arrive early to miss them. Or take your time, they don’t tend to hang around long. There was also a school excursion while I was there, again they went through quickly. Seriously you should come here without a group and take your time to get the most out of it. You will be rewarded and enjoy it more.
*As a side note: If like me, you are interested in the Chămpa, there is an absolutely fabulous museum devoted just to their sculpture in Da Nang, many amazing statues and stone engravings, it is a must visit: The Museum of Cham Sculpture (Bảo tàng Điêu khắc Chăm).
