点评:I came during a heavy rainstorm in Da Nang and the museum was filled with billiards of tourists. I guess the weather forced us all inside on this day and time!
I had previously visited many of the temple in Ankor Wat and was very interested in seeing the Cham temples.
Since I could not take a day trip to the nearby My Son Cham site, the museum was my consolation but it was a very good intro to the Cham culture and the various sites located throughout Vietnam. Many of the carvings, photos and site information included descriptions in both English and Vietnamese and were grouped together by excavation site.
The Tra Kieu Pedestal was my favorite piece but there were many others of animals, lingas, and gods. I also appreciated the full translations in the room of steles that provided more context of what was written back then.
If a tour group has congregated in front of a piece just come back a few minutes later and that was how I managed to see everything.
On the second floor were displays on culture, clothing, pottery, etc and wasn’t crowded at all.
When I left there were still many buses parked in front and of course the area was flooded to the curb. I walked down to the Long An Temple to the right and it was so much easier to catch my Grab back to the hotel.
A great value and I hope to see one or more of the actual Cham sites on a return trip the Central Vietnam.
