点评:So thankful to the grab driver we met. He advised us to go early to get the first train, avoid long queues and watch the sun as it rises. So glad we did, 11, 10 and 8 yr old. We had a car so drove and got there at 615. There were already about 20 people Infront of us. We bought our tickets on the same day within 5 minutes we reached the counter. And guess what, there is a special price for local Malaysians before 8 am you only pay 5rm for adults and children. Otherwise you pay 8rm and 16 rm. Unfortunately,I had to pay international price 30 rm return but my kids and husband were able to get the local price, being Malaysians.
We got the first train up at 630am and stayed for two hours, even joined in the zumba class.
What i didn’t know was you can even hike up there. There is a train stop half way. I was told it takes about one hour 30 minutes to get to the top. I am not sure how many kilometres it is but something that’s definitely on my list to do-as a hiker.
No shops were open while we were there as it was early morning so it’s a good idea maybe to take some drinks with you. My kids got a bit hungry by that time so luckily I had some bread rolls that I picked up from 7-Eleven . I think food may be available from 9 am onwards.
Lots of spots to take photos definitely go if you are going to visit Penang and there’s no need to book via a tour company you can do it all by yourself .
The train journey is about 10 minutes in total.
