NOT FOR TRAVELLERS ON A BUDGET
考索国家公园的点评
点评：My own fault for not researching enough first, but this is an extremely expensive place for activities. A full day boat tour on Ko Phi Phi Island cost me £25 - here (online) is £60 for a half a day minimum
- THE LOCAL TOUR SHOPS ARE MUCH CHEAPER - HOWEVER they have a monopoly on the park, there are no public maps and they try to force you to get a guide for any walk, there is one good half day walk you can do without a guide (i got shouted at after trying to continue past the guide only sign) Along the river from the visitor centre, but for how out of the way the village is im not sure its worth the stop for budget travellers. I paid 200THB park fee (same for all national parks in thailand) and had a great afternoon but the tours were far too much out of my budget (especially the lake tours).
I did see some really good wildlife even on the short walk (many lizards, monkeys, birds, monitor lizards, big spiders and the many butterfly species are beautiful) - hence the boost of rating
My plan is to get closer to the dam and use a moped to see more of the park where possible and do walks on trails without guides, but it its a clearly guarded industry and even for the simple walk i did 80% of people had a guide paid.
If you have the budget the lake activities could be amazing but by price comparison to rhe rest of the country ts extremely extortionate
