Affordable Adventures的点评
点评：We stayed at the Rockerville lodge (!!!) and our guide, Nick, (Affordable Adventures) had no issues picking us up there and he covered all the fee's for the day. He arrived on time (clean van) and had lots of snacks and water for our day trip. We thought there would be other folks but ended up being just the 3 of us, Nick, my Wife and I. We went to Mt Rushmore the evening before so Nick took us to other places not listed on the Day trip. The Custer Loop was really enjoyable, we saw over 200 to 300 Bison and some where very close to our vehicle. Others farther away grazing undisturbed. Large herds and smaller herds. Also saw Pronghorn, Prairie dogs and the friendly Burros. Nick provided and in-depth understanding of the park's ecosystem and its inhabitants, making it more than just a sightseeing tour, but an educational day. After the Loop tour we had lunch at a log Cabin Restaurant where we tried Bison bites.
Next was Lake Sylvan for a short visit and Then we drove the Needle’s Eye Highway and through the Cathedral Spires granite formations. This provided awesome views and info on parking for the Spires trail which we hiked the next day. Nick also took us over the Iron Mountain Road with pigtail bridges and tunnels that frame Mt. Rushmore, he was also will willing to stop or pull over anytime we wanted for photo Op's or just the views. We also stopped at 2 visitor centers that where quite interesting and viewed where all the Bison were brought for the yearly Round up! My wife and I where very pleased with the Tour and all of Nick's input. We stayed in the area for 3 days and the guided trip really help us get a feel of the the Black hills area. Beautiful scenery and didn't break the bank, would highly recommend Affordable Adventures!
