Family Outlander Day with Gerry McMullan

点评：Six years ago we toured as a family with Gerry McMullan from Carnegie Touring.
This time it was me and my teen son Aidan m. Sadly my husband Charlie passed away in December 2024 and he encouraged us to take this trip.
We booked a one day Outlander Tour and went to some new places like Queens View, which has a spectacular vista almost all the way to Glencoe. A stop at Aberfeldy to see the oldest Yew tree in the world was really special.
We also stopped in Pitlochry where the imaginary Craigh na Dun is. Of course no standing stones as the show isn’t currently filming. Itwas such a magical place and so exciting to stand where the actors and fave book characters stood. It was a gorgeous day, but so windy which made it seem supernatural.
Then on to Perth to see Tibbermore Kirk. Fans of the show will recognize this as the location where the witch trial with Claire and Geillis takes place. We were the only people there and really had a chance to soak it all. We finished off with a dram of whisky at Midhope Castle. It was very emotional returning there and was bittersweet because Charlie encouraged my love for all things Outlander.
Thanks to Gerry McMullan for bringing us both times and making a special day for me and Aidan. Charlie would have loved all the places we visited especially Queens View and all the places in between. If you are ever in Scotland in the Edinburgh area or beyond Gerry and Carnegie Touring is the best and will build an itinerary of what you would like to see and do whether it’s a 1 day Outlander tour or several days visiting whisky distilleries, golf or historical sites around the country. He is so kind and knowledgeable and really took the time to make sure we were both enjoying the day. Gerry’s love of Scotland shines through and he’s so proud to share it.
