点评:We visited here on Dec. 29 as part of a long road trip from our home in southeastern PA out to New Mexico. We combined this mid-sized museum and the slightly larger Museum of the Great Plains in Lawton (see separate review) for a nice day’s outing.
The main gallery here is very well done, beginning with its many topical display cases packed with artifacts; each display was accompanied by large sturdy pages that you can flip through for more information about that topic. This room also contained many wagons, carriages, etc. There is a small exhibit here on the cotton industry in OK (we didn’t realize cotton was even grown in OK until we passed some cotton plants while driving through that area). Outside is a half-dugout cabin and rancher’s homestead.
In all, we spent just over one hour here and really enjoyed it. There was plentiful free onsite parking and a very reasonable admission charge. By the way, there is a nice virtual tour feature at their website if you want to explore the museum interior online.
