Aescher – Gasthaus am Berg的点评
点评：Easily reached from the top station of the Ebenalp Cable Car. There are many walks cross-crossing the hills here and plentiful maps at the top and bottom stations to guide you. There is a little cash-only souvenir shop at the bottom of the cable car, and a vending machine at the top that sells waterproof ponchos!
We chose walk number 4, a hair-raising gorge-side walk from Ebenalp cable car station to Gartenalp and then onto the Aescher Berggasthaus. Sheer drops off the path - not for the feint-hearted.
But there are easier ways to get to Aescher… you will see yellow signs and a knife/fork symbol on signposts as you walk along.
Such a treat when you make it - great views, really friendly staff, a cute little gift-shop selling things not seen elsewhere (including crystals from nearby) and a range of beers and food. Alas no fondue on the menu (we were told it is only served on national holidays), but there are plenty of good, hearty things - cheese pie, chicken with alpine potatoes, soups, ragout. Chicken with nettle pesto too! Do have the best brownies in the world - I don’t like brownies but I’d eat these every day (made with walnuts, coated with roasted muesli and edible dried petals, with whipped cream - yum).
