点评:Our experience at Fort Huachuca Museums was so interesting!
We had to get a free pass at the Van Deman Gate onto the active military base prior to going to the museums (which are on the base.) It involves giving your driver's license and some other information to the person/s on-duty. They run a quick background check on you and issue you a year pass if you Arizona resident and a 3 month pass if you are from out-of-state. (I would estimate it takes about 2 minutes per person.)
There are three museums. The Buffalo Soldier museum is historical and includes a small gift shop. The Annex has a display and explanation of the development of unmanned flight (drones, etc.) The guys in our group really liked that! And the third museum is the Military Intelligence (MI) Soldier Heritage Learning Center.
This third (and very modern and technologically advanced) museum could take you hours! It begins with George Washington and continues to the present in showing how "military intelligence" developed and was used during the various wars and time periods in US history. Fascinating!
We only had about an hour and a half but should have set aside at least 2-3 hours.
