Philips Museum的点评
点评：We debated whether to go to the museum and were glad we opted to do so. The innovation of the Phillips company is on full display in this museum, making for a wonderful experience. The audio guide enhanced the experience for us so that we could listen and look around at each display, rather than having to read panel after panel. Children of various ages in the museum seemed to be exploring with a self guided game designed for them. I certainly learned a few things about technology and the background of this city.
Nevertheless, I would only give this museum four stars for three reasons. First, the museum was busy on the day we went. At one point we were standing back to read a sign and a couple walked right in front of us blocking our view so we couldn’t finish reading; elsewhere we were trying one of the activities and having just gotten the language set to English, another couple pushed in and took over before we could press start. Second, things in the museum were well translated for those of us who aren’t from Holland, but there was a play that seemed well acted and engaging which it would have been lovely to have either a paper translation or an audio guide option for hearing it in the other languages. Three, the flow of visitors through much of the exhibit is clever but then it gets awkward at the end when it is time to exit - sending you into an overpacked cafeteria, then back down a hallway where your only choice is to interrupt the reading of those just arriving, and into a gift shop where we couldn’t really look at what was in half of the store because of a line of people waiting for the bathroom and coat check. So it is worth a visit to the museum, but I would highly recommend going at a quieter time if you can (ie not when most people have a day off).
