点评:I guess this site has a lot going for it certainly if you have small children. Positives include a large adventure playground, a scenic area next to the river where you can paddle and the Stepping Stones cafe where you can get decent food at reasonable prices. The staff are lovely and accommodated our complicated culinary requests with remarkable grace.
So why the three stars? I’m afraid I just could not ignore the elephant in the room, or to be more precise, the massive electric pylons running through the centre of the place. Not only are they unsightly but they give off a constant low grade, slightly sinister crackle. There are other noises to contend with too, namely the drone from the nearby M6 and the frequent clatter of high speed trains on the west coast main line which runs very close. It did astound me that others managed to ignore all this and seemed very happy there but each to their own. Sadly this is not a quiet rural idyll which is generally what we seek out.
