Unclean and caused stomach bug

点评：I was really looking forward to taking my daughter to this soft play because it was within walking distance, and the plan was to go most Friday mornings. When I found the building I was surprised that there was no safe access to it, we had to walk down a road with no pavement and through the car park to a small entryway. The staff seemed ok, I had to ask which bit my daughter could play in and got a vague point to the area, where at other soft plays they direct you and explain the areas. The girl didn’t seem that friendly who served me coffee. I didn’t think much of it though at the time as I was taking it all in and enjoying being out with my 5 month old.
When we climbed into the little area for the babies, there wasn’t much suitable for her age and a lot of the climbing blocks had duck tape covering the tears, none of the toys that could light up and make a noise had batteries in and one was thick with dirt (wish I took a picture) The more you looked you could see how tired the whole place was and there was a fusty smell in the air. Again I tried to see past it since my daughter seemed to enjoy herself as I sat her in a toy car and a jumperoo. I did feel like the toys seemed grubby and when I took her to the ball pit I saw there was a bit of rubbish in there like a sweet wrapper. There was also a mum who let her son throw a tricycle or something large down the slide which could have hit the other children at the bottom, but there were no staff supervising to say something to the mum.
My daughter was pretty tired quick so we were only there an hour, maybe less than that. I decided I wouldn’t return because it seemed too grubby, and was upset by this as I don’t drive and this was close by.
Less than 24 hours later my daughter had diarrhoea which lasted 12 days. I took her to the gp and had tests and they said it was likely from the uncleanliness of the soft play. I have warned people I know and reported to the healthy families team at Stay and Play so this doesn’t happen to others.
