Amazing Museum
Algonquin Visitor Centre的点评
点评：When visiting a park with that many locations, it's tempting to do one more extra trail, and shorten the stop at a visitor centre to just washrooms. In case of Algonqiun, that would be a miss, as their visitor centre includes an amazing museum.
It's not even limited to natural history - covers local history as well - but the natural part is what's done outstandingly. They really tried to explain the ecology of different areas of the park, not just put a moose for taking nice pictures. Set aside at least 30 min for the museum alone.
Speaking of education: the park has also a great set of small books, sold for 50 cents each, extremely well done scientifically, covering the same ecological topics but in more detail.
Things not so great:
1) the tower is not really a tower, there's no view, but the trail is short, ok to spend 5 min to put a checkmark;
2) a much better eatery is farther west, called Lake of 2 rivers cafe.
