Camel Rock的点评
点评：Yes, there is a rock that appears to look a little like a camel but let’s go under the surface so to speak. It is formed from 470 million year old turbidite beds that were created by underwater avalanches 450 million. Holy Toledo! That is some history. And just in case you are not familiar with turbidite… it’s just a sedimentary deposit created by turbidity currents- which are subaqueous sediment gravity flows.
There is a lookout as you enter the beach, so if you are here for the view… you have it metres from the carpark. I have to admit on this road trip that it was me that wanted to see the rock that looked like a camel, but once we were there… my daughter beelined for the beach! I was admiring the view from the viewing platform, and she was running free on the beach. It is a stunning beach… really beautiful.
My daughter was soon directing me to avoid the pieces of bluebottle on the beach… as I was staring at its beautiful blue ephemeral presence. The sea would surely take it back as the tide changed. The tide had bought it’s treasures up with small bits of driftwood, dead fish, shells, bits of coral and of course the bits of bluebottle.
The number one thing my daughter wanted to do on this road trip was to go to rockpools and … as you get closer to the camel rock there is a huge expanse of them. Soon, we both went exploring… finding crabs and small fish. I was fascinated by the rock formations and THEN she sighted an octopus. Seriously that is something special. This was my daughter’s favourite place instantly!

我女儿这次自驾游最想做的事情就是去岩池……当你靠近骆驼岩时，你会发现一大片岩池。很快，我们俩就一起去探险了……寻找螃蟹和小鱼。我被岩层迷住了，然后她看到了一只章鱼。说真的，这真是太特别了。这里立刻就成了我女儿最喜欢的地方！
