Amazing team, beautiful animals with great personalities and very allergen aware

点评：We visited as part of a big birthday celebration and booked a fox experience.
We were given a really warm welcome by Cat who made sure we knew all of the timings for events in the day and kindly answered our allergen related questions (vegan and coeliac). She was very thorough and went the extra mile to give as many options as possible whilst being clear re any risks of cross contamination.
The bar/ restaurant area is nicely decorated, a good size and has a very well stocked bar. They have a lovely menu including freshly made pizzas and lots of sweets treats.
It looks out over the sanctuary which allows you to get glimpses of a few of the animals including the camels and goats and has a nice children's play area outside too.
Heading into the park to explore you are greeted by lots of well cared for confident animals.
We loved the larger goats (I didn't capture their names sadly).
There is a field of goats that you can go in to feed - i did the classic of not paying enough attention at the second gate and one pushed past me into the gate lock area, in trying to encourage that one through I ended up with 10! Had to go and find a nice team member to help fix the problem I'd made! She was very friendly and little did I know we would cross paths later.
They have donkeys, pigs, kookaburras, mccaws and some other more exotic animals too.
We had a really nice lunch of pizza which Lisa kindly sorted a tray to cook mine on (to reduce contamination risks) and I bought all of the yummy vegan gluten free cheesecake they had which cat had found for me. Nothing was too much trouble and Lisa and cat were so friendly and kind.
The fox experience was amazing, the keepers
Paul and Becky (who had helped me with the goats!) really know their stuff and have so many interesting facts and stories to share. We found it funny that they shared the same names as us too. They clearly love their animals and want to do the best for them that they can. They took their time to let us build trust and confidence with Raina and Stan, giving them treats and practicing some training too. Raina and Stan are beautiful red foxes, who have very different personalities and are wonderful to spend time with. Raina was an expert, a poised little lady and Stan was confident and clearly very determined to get as many treats as he could. We then moved on to see the arctic foxes Otto and Margot who were again beautiful and fascinating in equal measure. Margot was super gentle when taking any treats and it was a joy to watch Otto trying to figure out how to get his food from the Welly we gave him.
I could watch these lovely foxes all day and they and the keepers made it such a fantastic experience for Paul too.
We will definitely return in the future and would recommend this lovely sanctuary too.
