Headlands International Dark Sky Park的点评
点评：We usually travel in a motorhome but on this trip I was driving a small SUV. This gave me a perfect opportunity to visit the darksky park. For everyone in larger vehicles, I’d like to tell you that you can drive down the winding, narrow, paved road to a large parking lot at the darksky park. A problem may occur if another vehicle is coming in the opposite direction. The road is quite narrow for even two small cars to pass. For this reason, we will not be taking our RV to this park.
The park itself is beautiful and has a nice seating area. We enjoyed a late picnic supper looking over the bay. I was astounded to discover that there were lights on across the bay. I expected total darkness for night star gazing. I have been other places that were darker than this so it was a bit of a disappointment. We also had many clouds that night, another disappointment.
All in all, though, it was a wonderful place to relax under the night sky. Bathrooms, using red lights, were avaiable. That was a nice touch. I hope to return another day when I have a car and the clouds are fewer.
My suggestion to whoever runs this place is to make the entrance road one way and pave another road for the exit.
