A fabulous winery visit in Montalcino!

点评：When your AirBnB host is a sommelier, you go where she recommends! It's hard to know where to go with so many places around Montalcino, but this--for sure--is where to go. It was a truly awesome experience to visit Fattoi. We don't really speak Italian, but that was not an issue at all, because we learned so much about the beautiful olive trees, the production of the wines, the challenges of being a winemaker when the weather is unexpected...and each step of the process was explained so well! The weather was cool and overcast, but the view and the land was still simply breathtaking! The family story is so interesting (I can't imagine having young children and following my husband's wild notion of starting a winery!), and the half-century of dedication to excellence shows in the delicious wine and the enthusiasm for what their winery produces. We have several bottles on the way and some olive oil too and I am so excited to have that wonderful taste of the best of Montalcino here in Atlanta.
