点评：My in-laws kindly treated my wife, our two children, and me to lunch today at The Red Carpet Cinema & Café Bar. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing, especially considering the price.
From the moment we arrived, there was no warm welcome, and the staff—who seemed inexperienced—showed little to no customer service skills. The glasses looked unclean (likely from the dishwasher), which still isn’t acceptable. Service was slow, with food arriving much later than expected despite the restaurant not being busy. Several staff members were standing around chatting rather than attending to customers, and we were never asked if we wanted to order more drinks.
While my own meal was enjoyable, the Sunday roasts ordered by my wife and mother-in-law were very poor. The potatoes were rock-hard, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt, and the beef was both fatty and chewy. When the plates were cleared, the waitress didn’t even ask if we’d enjoyed the food—instead, we were simply handed a survey form.
It’s a real shame, because my chicken sandwich was delicious. However, even when I asked for the leftover meat to be boxed up for the dog, it felt like an inconvenience to the staff. Overall, the standard of food and service did not reflect the high cost, and I’ve had far better meals and friendlier service at Wetherspoons for a fraction of the price.
