Mt Longonot hike with local guide!
Mount Longonot National Park的点评
点评：The view from the mountain is amazing. For all "mzungus" i highly recommend bring your own sunscreen from home as it is not self evident you can buy it at every chemist in Kenya. Also take a lot of water for this hike, especially if you want to go around the crater. At least 3l per person(in case of sunny weather). And also protect you head and neck by wearing hat or somethings. Talking from my own experience :)
My story... At Mt.Longonot park gate i was advised to get a guide, so i can get better experience as guide knows not only the lane, but also vegetation, animals, history, ... I decided for this option and that was very good decision.
Can't say i wasn't well prepared, but combination of hot weather and maybe lack of water led us the trip took a bit longer than expected :) ..7 hours - more than one h to the crater edge, then 4 and something to walk around and the rest to come back to gate.
A few details about fees...
Park fee for foreigners in feb 2025 was 30$, for locals only 3$.
Guidance is between 25-35$, no matter group or individual. To be with you 7 hours, this is very cheap.
Since I was very satisfied with my guide, i can highly recommend him... His name is Steve, i guess he is around 30 :) ..contact whatsapp: +254 706 776 450
And I can also recommend my Uber driver from Nairobi. Robert +254 712 929 571
So in short:
-protect yourself (sunscreen)
-wear hiking shoes(terrain is rocky, dusty, ..)
-take lot of water (plastic bottles ain't allowed, but this is negotiatable). Anyway, bring bottles back and also if you find some trash while hiking bring it back down
-get a guide :)

2025 年 2 月，外国人的停车费为 30 美元，当地人只需 3 美元。
无论是团体还是个人，导游费用在 25-35 美元之间。陪伴您 7 个小时，这非常便宜。

-带上大量的水（不允许使用塑料瓶，但这是可以协商的）。无论如何，把瓶子带回来，如果你在徒步旅行时发现一些垃圾，也把它带回来
-找一个导游 :)
