Centro Storico, Lecce的点评
点评：We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent exploring Lecce on foot and discovering all its treasures. Lecce is perfectly flat so it is an ideal city to explore on foot.
If you want to enter the main attractions, namely The Duomo and its tower, the Basilica di Santa Croce, Chiesa di Santa Chiara, Chiesa di San Matteo, Antico Seminario and the Museo di Arte Sacra (MuDAS) then these are chargeable with either an individual charge or a group ticket that covers all, which is much better value for money and worth buying even if you only intend to visit a couple. However, worth checking at the ticket office if they will be open for your visit as they are quite often closed to the public for services or weddings for example.
There are plenty of additional churches, in excess of 15 I believe, and some of the B level ones are just as impressive as those you have to pay for..
The Cento Storico is the area enclosed within the many gates of the historic city and if you are on a guided tour, you will invariably start in front of the Porta Napoli, which is the biggest and main gate of the city. But the smaller ones dotted about, such as Rudiae Gate and St Biagio Gate are equally well worth searching out at the end of the narrow lanes that lead to them.
