Black Gorges and 7 waterfalls walk

点评：Book a taxi and a guide for the hike before going to the location.
We had booked through our hotel and the taxi driver was great. Unfortunately the hotel had not told us who, when or where the guide would be. Our taxi driver organised a local guide called Nirvan who was excellent, he also has a local restaurant whixh serves yummy food.
Wear sturdy trainers and footwear and also take plenty of water, a hat and sun cream.
Our guide took us along paths to the highest waterfall which we saw some people abseil down.
You walk underneath the waterfall and can see all the way down the beautiful gorge and the other 6 waterfalls.
We continued through the dense forest clambering over rocks and tree roots. The second waterfall is gorgeous and we had a fish pedicure in a small pool. The fish will nibble your feet. Tickly but nice.
At the next waterfall you got a wonderful photo looking up and down the waterfalls and gorge.
At the fourth waterfall you can jump off the cliff or large rocks into the 20m plungepool. Very refreshing and a good spray. A great spot for a swim and to cool down.
The final 2 falls are fairly small in comparison and much quieter.
The guide took plenty of care checking on us and showing us where to place our feet in tricky areas. He was very obliging and took fun photos of us among the falls including laying down and looking right over the falls.
Be aware although the walk is only 3 to 3.5 km the climb back up is steep. Hold onto the trees and watch your heads for branches or feet for rogue roots.
I would absolutely recommend this tour and it took us 2 hours from start to finish. It can take up to 4 hours if you swim at each pool or are slower at walking. I would advise not to go if you are unsteady on your feet or are scared of heights.
A real hidden gem in a beautiful area of Mauritus. Be ware there are no Loos or conveniences on the tour. The only conveniences are by the bus station at the start of the tour.
