Disappointing and over-priced
Harlaxton Manor的点评
点评：For a while now Harlaxton Manor has been on our "to-do" list. When we arrived the outside door indeed look impressive and large. Before starting the tour we decided to have some lunch. After a long time queuing the food options were a bit limited but reasonable in price. Be aware though that a simple mug of tea costs £3 (and even then I had to ask for a top up as it was only half-filled).
After looking round the garden, we entered to look around, and within 10 minutes had finished. Yep, turns out there were only 10 rooms you could look at, of which the cafe, the room where you sat to eat, and 3 others were all ones you could just walk into without paying. So in essence you pay £15 to see a handful of rooms.
Disappointed we decided to search out the walled garden, only to be told that you have to pay extra to look at it as it was part of a tour, and they were all sold out anyway.
So to summarise, is Harlaxton Manor worth visiting, and is it good value for money? For us the answer to both is a resounding No. There are many more places in the County that offer a better, longer, experience and they include all the gardens in the ticket price too.
