Steep Climb, Tricky to Find Starting Point

点评：The hardest part of this hike is finding the starting point. There is a map of the hiking trails of Hydra at the port. Standing in the mid point of the port, looking at the water, the sign is to your left. There is also a very small yellow sign on one of the alleys leading away from the water. Once you find it, just walk uphill, following the blue and white blazes. It's a very steep climb, especially at the end. Go early in the day, bring lots of water, snacks and sturdy shoes.
The monastery was a sacred space with a lovely chapel. The monks provide coverings so you can meet their dress code, covering shoulder and knees. Once you have seen the monastery, you can continue on to the summit of Mount Eros or stop at a convent on the way down. It took me four hours round trip, once I actually found the trail.
