点评:Who doesn't love a good lookout tower?! We thought this was great. The tower is 100 feet tall and has an interesting history. There are two lookout platforms at ground level - which is 400 feet above town - which are accessible for strollers and wheelchairs (the have wooden boardwalks and the trail leading to them is dirt and gravel). These platforms provide great views.
The climb up the tower begins with a regular staircase, followed by circular staircases, and finally a slanted ladder near the top. If you find yourself too nervous to climb up the ladder portion (because of the height and wind), the views from just below it are pretty much the same. It's amazing how dense the forest is there!
At one end of the parking lot at 112 Jack Guppy Way (near the little museum building), there are vault toilets. There are a few hiking trails that begin near the tower. We did the White Bear Trail and loved it. I highly recommend it, but note that it is challenging with many rocks, tree roots, and steep inclines, so hikers should be stable on their feet.
