点评:My family would vacation at Chimney Corners every year from 1986-1993. If it wasn't a beach day we'd head out to town and visit places like Gwen Frostics studio. Her studio was magical and alive with nature bursting out of every corner. The building was always pristine and the grounds surrounding the studio were always well taken care of. Her prints were abundant and color coordinated and the presses were always running nonstop. The downstairs was always a treat to walk through with wrapping paper, stationary, notebooks, cards and beautiful nature-scapes everywhere. I was so saddened to see what it has become. The parking lot was practically empty. There is rotting wood inside and outside. Weeds are overgrown everywhere. Her entryway has cracked sidewalks with caulking. The grounds are covered with dumpsters to the left of the building that look like they've been there for a while. Indoors the waterscapes are dirty and unkempt. The downstairs is closed off and you can no longer venture down there. They are also selling so many other things that are not Gwen Frostics. This is Gwen Frostics studio. The only things you should be selling in there are her works of art or else take her name off from above the door. The presses should be running all day. Whoever owns the property is not memorializing Gwen Frostic like she should be. They also have a brochure talking about Gwen's next chapter. It does not have a date on the brochure so I don't know if that brochure has just been sitting around for years saying that they are going to be renovating and reviving the studio. However, I read another review in 2022 and it sounded like the property was in pretty bad shape even then. Gwen Frostic left over $13 million to Western Michigan University. Maybe they should have an endowment fund to buy back her studio and bring it back to the glory that it once was.
