I was in the hotel for three days and two nights in July 2025. I paid for a superior room with a balcony (which was the most expensive option among the small rooms). My main goal for the trip was to have fun in the spa area and enjoy the swimming pools with the beautiful view. I was traveling solo (as I usually do) and I didn't expect anything extra from the hotel, just a clean room and a good attitude.
When I checked in, my very first surprise was that I didn't get a classic plastic key card for my room, but an original steel key. The key itself was old-fashioned and dirty. As I was going to my room, it started to become obvious that part of the hotel was somewhat renovated, but a drastic number of rooms ARE NOT. When I opened the door, I was shocked: the room was extremely outdated, with furniture from the mid-70s and an extremely dirty bathroom. The situation worsened with the fact that the whole ceiling of the room was covered with FLIES AND MOSQUITOES. The photos of the rooms they post in the media do not reflect the real interior of the rooms. The worst part was that IN MY BED, I found a lot of big black ANTS that had freely occupied my room.
I have an insect phobia, which is why I went to the reception immediately and asked to change my room. I also pointed out that I could make an extra payment for a better room if there were no options in my prepaid budget, but the staff told me that there were no free rooms and the whole hotel was booked. When I asked them to help me with this issue, as I was not joking and am really afraid of insects and cannot handle the fear, they UNBELIEVABLY suggested two options: either stay in my room or just stay in the lobby... I don't even know how to describe my level of anger. Luckily, in the end, a staff member brought a vacuum cleaner to the room and cleaned it, but this was at 10:30 PM... I really do not know why they didn't clean the room in advance. And, on top of this mess, my balcony, for which I had paid, was dirty and the view was just of the roof, with no scenery, so I couldn't even have a cup of coffee on it.
Another stumbling block of my "vacation" was the restaurant service. The issue is that the restaurant, which is described as à la carte, has nothing of good service or a good menu. The food is very standard, nothing special or at least delicious. The worst thing is the waiters... I was waiting to place an order for 48 minutes. And when I ordered fondue as a safe option, they forgot to provide me with bread as a side dish, although before making the order I had clarified whether side dishes were included.
But the most unbelievable and dangerous thing about this hotel was the spa zone. To be honest, my review of the baths and spa could have been very good, as the swimming pools themselves are actually really good! They are clean, with warm and cool water, there is even a special area only for adults (which I really liked), and enough convenient space for sunbathing. However, my last hour in the spa zone completely ruined the whole experience.
Just two hours before check-out, I decided to spend time in the spa zone. It consists of a good jacuzzi and several types of saunas and a hammam. All of them are located inside the hotel, with only one exception. From the spa zone, there is a special closed area outside the main building where the hottest sauna, with 90 degrees Celsius inside, is located. This means that to reach this sauna, you need to go out of the main building and stay outside.
I went outside and entered this hottest sauna, stayed there for the recommended 10 minutes, and was about to finish my session and come back to the common spa area when I realized that I couldn't open the door. I got stuck inside the sauna; the door was broken and I just couldn't open it. Luckily, there was an opportunity to stay outside the hottest part of the sauna because of its special construction, but can you imagine my fear when all this happened? To make a long story short, I was trying to get back inside the spa center for more than 40 minutes and then, after multiple attempts, I decided to risk it and turn on a special alarm button located inside the sauna. Important note: this button is supposed to help people who are losing consciousness because of the heat, and spa staff are supposed to react immediately when they see this kind of alarm button activated.
After I pressed the button, I was waiting for any help for 17 minutes... Can you imagine what could happen in 17 minutes to a person who is actually dying? The worst part about this situation is that the spa staff DIDN'T HELP ME! I got help absolutely by chance because other sauna visitors just came there and opened the door from the other side so I could escape and warn them that the doors were broken. When I went to the spa reception immediately to tell them that there was a major problem with the doors, they didn't even react... They just told me something like, "Thank you for informing us, have a good day," and continued with their own business... I do not know how to describe this level of irresponsibility! As I said, luckily no one really needed help and no one was actually dying; otherwise, the hotel would have faced a huge accident.
I want to deliver this message to the owners or administration of the hotel: if not for this situation, I would have rated the hotel as 3 out of 5 for its potential, because the swimming area and the nature around it are actually really good. But the lack of reaction to a potential emergency ruined my whole experience forever!
But overall, the quality of the rooms and the level of service do not justify the cost at all. I hope you will improve and make this hotel better, but for now, my rating is 1 out of 5.
