点评：While there are periodic breaks in Gross Basel where you can see and access the river, the near entirety of Klein Basel's waterfront is open access to the public and something you must visit. Klein Basel (the portion of Basel NE of the Rhine River) has unique modern architecture, Art Basel and the tallest buildings in Switzerland, the Roche Towers; however, its top attraction and main reason we visited it during our stay was this tremendous beautiful public access to the Rhine River. From the banks of Klein Basel, you get great views of Gross Basel, including the Pfalz, the Basel Munster, Martinskirche, the University of Basel and the Old Town. In addition, you are wonderful public, modern spaces to hang out and watch the river with outdoor dining and drinks. You even have a wonderful bronze model of Gross Basel as well as the "Basel" sign that is made for pictures. Finally, you have two of the best activities to do in Basel, take a Basel ferry or simply jump in the Rhine and float down.
We visited on both days of our Basel stay. The first day we took the ferry from the Minster and then walked the Rheinufer before crossing back over the Middle Bridge. Our second day, we used the public waterfront to both access and exit the Rhine as we floated the river with hundreds of others in the city. Again, this is the best thing to do and see in Klein Basel.
