Lovely walk there and back, shame about the dogs out of control and the bags of abandoned poo

点评：Parked in the provided free car park, less than a mile from Ripon town centre planning a walk with our dogs, always polite, well socialised and on leads at ALL times. The canal path is just less than 2 miles long; a very easy linear walk there and back. Please note that the picture of the cafe at the top of this page is NOT on this canal. There is a small sandwich shop at the end in Ripon only. The path is fairly level and there are some great views of wetland birds and also of the racecourse. The only negative was the spectacular quantity of filled dog poo bags littering the whole length of the canal. And a minority of entitled dog owners with their unsociable hounds completely out of control, despite signs asking for them to be on a lead. The council dog wardens should perhaps designate some time to make this walk safer and cleaner. We also returned carrying our multiple full poo bags - where are the bins? Not a single one from the carpark to the far end of the canal.
